Green Valley Archers                             June 2009                                      Volume 38 No.6

WORK PARTIES:

The board will be scheduling more work parties at the July board meeting. At the June 6, 2009 work party
there were only five volunteers who showed up to help. The five volunteers successfully banded 17 bales
and put them out on the Field & Hunter Round. There are still 50+ bales that need banded, and the trails
are in very bad shape. Club members will be lucky to get a 20-yard shot at most of the 3D targets and bales
on the rounds. We are in great need of more volunteers to come out and help at the work parties. Over the
last few years we have had a severe lack of volunteers. It would be very sad to lose a local archery club to
lack of help from volunteers. Not only will you be earning a free membership for next year if you attend
four of the work parties; you will have the pride and satisfaction of being part of the helping keep the
Green Valley Archery club going. Clear trails make it so much more enjoyable to practice for hunting
season this summer. The clearer the trails now the less work will have to be done this winter when we are
getting the trails ready for the 3D shoots in January, March, and May.

EXECUTIVE BOARD MEETING:

The next Executive Board Meeting will be held on July 7, 2009 at Round Table. You don’t have to be a
Board member to attend. The meeting will start at 7:00p.m.with the Executive Board gathering at
6:30 p.m. We would really like to have members join us at the board meetings to give us your input,
and get in on discussions.

BOARD MEETING DISCUSSION:

There were only a few members able to attend the June board meeting so the meeting was dismissed
early, and nothing was scheduled. At the July 7, 2009 board meeting the board will be discussing the
last work parties lack of volunteers, and will be scheduling a few more work parties before hunting
season.

                               HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY!!!!
